Judge Ian Pringle QC has deferred the sentence for four months. He took an exceptional course hinting that the girl might not be jailed because of her exceptional medical skill. “It seems to me that if this was a one-off, a complete one-off, to prevent this extraordinary able young lady from not following her long-held desire to enter the profession she wishes to would be a sentence which would be too severe,” said the judge as reported by The Guardian .
The judge further added that what the girl did will haunt her forever. Under normal circumstances, this would have caused a custodial sentence. Woodwards currently living with her mother in Milan, Italy. She punched her boyfriend and then stabbed him in the leg. She even threw a jam, laptop, and other stuff at him. The girl had issues with her previous boyfriend.
Miss Woodward has published several research journals and has made a lot of contribution to the medical research. If the judge ruled against her, the career would have finished. The court also stated that the offender had a troubled life.
