Vanessa Haydon Trump, the daughter in law of the President Donald J. Trump, the wife of his Eldest son Donald Trump Jr., filed for an uncontested divorce on Thursday in Manhattan Supreme Court.
The uncontested divorce means that she will not be claiming the custody of their children. Many legal experts have speculated that Don Jr. might have a Prenup with Vanessa Haydon Trump. The Prenup agreements seem to run in the Trump family.
In a joint statement of the couple to Page Six, they said, “After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways, we will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have five beautiful children together and they remain our top priority. We ask for your privacy during this time.”
She was first introduced to Don Jr. by the Trump himself back in 2003, she was model at the time. The couple got married after ten months of Donald J. Trump married the former model Melania Knauss.
The speculations are that this divorce is a result of marital problems between the two and Don Jr.’s travels.
The divorce, surprisingly, came the same day after the family business is subpoenaed by Robert Muller.
According to a family law expert, Nancy Chemtob, Venessa could invoke the spousal immunity for not testifying against her husband while the divorce is pending. Which is also feeding the speculations that she may bargain for a financial settlement.
Last month Vanessa and her mother were hospitalized after they opened an envelope with a strange substance, which later turned out to be cornstarch. The culprit was caught and charged with the crime for doing this. It may seem like she has had enough of the Trump family and finally decided that she couldn’t take it anymore.
The couple seemed to have a good relation. Donald Trump Jr. frequently posted the pictures of his family on his twitter handle and Venessa Trump also used her Twitter handle to cherish the fine moments.
