The White House has recently proposed the gun safety measures which include arming the teachers but no mention of Donald trump’s previous calls to raise the minimum age eligible for purchasing firearms. it is worth noting that after the school shooting incidents it is the number one priority for the government to provide both safety and peace of mind to the students. These recent proposals are in our way meant for making schools a safer place.

The Trump administration proposes to provide a detailed firearm training to the specially qualified teachers on the voluntary basis and this is planned to have assistance from the department of Justice. The department will provide training to these specially qualified teachers through their own local agencies.

According to the recent updates we are also hearing news of president’s efforts to establish a Federal Commission on school safety which is plans to be headed by education secretary Betsy Devos. The commission will be directed to focus their efforts for strengthening the mental health and the security of the schools in their jurisdiction. in addition to these efforts the commission will also explore other solutions such as raising the age requirement for gun purchases.

According to The Daily Mail the Ambit of the time in which the commission is to release their findings is unknown at this moment. The education secretary Betsy Devos said, “Far too often the focus has been only on the most contentious fights — the things that have divided people and sent them into their entrenched corners. But the plan that we’re going to advance and talk about is a pragmatic plan to dramatically increase school safety and to take steps to do so right away.”

The White house plans also mention the usage of military veterans and retired law enforcement officials into the educational related career. These proposals were expected to contain the details for raising the minimum age for buying long guns 21, A measure which Trump has said he would support but they released details of the White House make no mention of any such thing.
