North Korea continues giving statements against U.S. as tension between the two countries festers. North Korea’s foreign minister has accused US President of declaring war against his country. He also added that they’ve got every right to shoot down every U.S. bomber.
Ri Yong-ho statement can be regarded more negative since it considered every U.S. warplane in or outside the sovereign boundaries of North Korea shootable. Ri Yong-ho said that the shoot and attack policy applies to every U.S. warplane despite its location and they’ve got a right to actually shoot it down.
Pentagon warned Pyongyang to stop giving such statements and rhetoric. The critics think that such statements can lead to a massive misunderstanding between the two countries. Ri’s response seems to be after the Trump’s tweet.
Trump had tweeted that the North Korea’s leadership wouldn’t be much around if they continued giving such statements. Surely Trump had issued a direct threat in response to the North Korean ICBM activities.
“The whole world should clearly remember it was the US who first declared war on our country,” said Mr Ri during the UN General Assembly. The same assembly where world leaders are given the opportunity to make others listen to their opinions.
“Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make counter-measures, including the right to shoot down United States strategic bombers even when they are not inside the airspace border of our country.” added Mr Ri to his speech during UN Assembly.
Trump response was rather quick on the entire situation.
It’s worth mentioning that U.S. recently flew its warplane near the coast of North Korea as a show of the power. Pentagon is ready to provide President with options to give North Korea a strong message if they continue to give statements against U.S.
The only solution at this moment can be a political solution which can assure peace. Experts say that there are least chances of a direct conflict between the two countries.
