The wildlife experts from Brazil have found a Humpback whale in the rainforests and they are left baffled because they were not expecting something like this in their forest area. This 10 ton mammal was found in the jungle without any signs of life, in the island of Marajo. This island sits in the mouth of the Amazon river. The scientists after coming across this strange happening have come to a conclusion that some storm might have washed ashore the poor creature which was later unable to get back into the water. This ordeal might have taken its life. However, there is another question that why this whale was swimming along the shore at first.
The birds of prey were found to be scavenging on the huge carcass as the officials from the Para stet’s health department found the huge animal. The remains of the whale were deposited in a remote area which is part of the mangrove swamp in the Amazonian delta, therefore it took two trips for the wildlife experts to reach the site. The hard geographical conditions were a great barrier for the scientists to reach the site. The team which is researching on the whale has been expanded as Bicho D’agua Institute, a conservation group based on Marajo, is also contributing its researchers for the cause.
We’re still not sure how it landed here, but we’re guessing that the creature was floating close to the shore and the tide, which has been pretty considerable over the past few days, picked it up and threw it inland, into the mangrove. (said the institute project leader)
Also, what humpback whale was doing on the north coast of Brazil is also a mystery. A little research into this matter is going to reveal more things. The time will resolve this mystery along with the efforts of the researchers.
