Mathew McConaughey has become a full-time professor at University of Texas

Remember the guy? Mathew McConaughey, the one who won award for different roles he played on big screen. He has been appointed as a professor of practice at the Moody College of Communication, starting this fall.

The announcement was made by the university in a tweet. It was declared that the professor has been chosen in recognition of his professional pedigree and personal investment in student success. Just have a look at the announcement tweet:

McConaughey has set to become a regular professor after working as a visiting instructor since 2015. The guy has become quite an icon at the college and he is liked being around the campus. He is set to join Department of Radio-Television-Film.

The guy has quite a practical experience at hands, because of that experience he co-taught the ‘Script to Screen’ film production class along with Scott Rice, a fellow professor. McConaughey helped him shape up the future syllabus and gave him some valuable inputs.

McConaughey equally respects the class. He is pretty clear about its importance as he is often found saying that the class was something which he misses when he looks back to his struggling years with study. He said that he wished he had this opportunity during his study years.

He gave an interview to UT News and said:

Making movies, turning words on paper into film, is both a science and art – no matter the time or generation.

The guy had graduated with a film degree back in 1993 from the University of Texas. He has worked in more than 50 movies, the names include Interstellar, The Wolf of Wall Street and Dallas Buyers Club. He has also worked as a producer. He has a pretty strong portfolio and after becoming a regular professor he would be adding more value.

McConaughey is pretty lively and he was able to win the hearts of his students when he drove them home in a golf cart. The activity was a part of the university’s Sure Walk Drive initiative.

The Chairman of the Department of Radio-Television-Film says that the actor has a passion for teaching and for all the things which are cinematic.
