Science is both a combination of logic and dreams, confusion can give rise to new quests and the itinerary to achieve enlightenment can provide answers. This man named Mike Hughes hopes to join the popular scientists who defied all the odds and found the truth ultimately. He plans to launch himself in a homemade rocket in California and throws the gauntlet that he is going to prove that the Earth is flat.
The guy has spent around dollars 20000 building a steam-powered rocket and he plans to live stream his launch over the Internet for the common people to have a look. The former Daredevil says that he focused his time towards building a rocket after he broke his back twice doing stunt jumps in the cars.
The Guardian has featured the guy and their report on him has aroused a lot of curiosity among the people. The guy simply doesn’t believe in science and he is 61 years old at the moment.
I don’t believe in science, I know about aerodynamics and fluid dynamics and how things move through the air. But that’s not science, that’s just a formula. – said the 61yo man
According to his calculations, the rocket is aimed to reach a height of 1800 feet over the California. Rocket with last from the back of a converted motorhome which he has purchased from Craigslist. The project is even sponsored by a flat Earth research group. In order to find the truth, the guy wants to visit the space himself.
The guy described himself as the only man on earth who has ever built his own rocket and took a flight on his own. The footage of him flying in his old rocket has been uploaded on YouTube which was his first attempt to launch himself in 2014.
The guy is quite determined about the flatness of earth and he says that after a successful experiment he is going to run for the governorship of California. It is worth noting that the flat Earth theory has been fuelled by Internet through online message boards and some high-profile endorsement from celebrities. In the past, Boston Celtics’ Kyrie Irving made into headlines for promoting the same.
The guys behind this move are also asking the general public to fund their motive. They have set up a GoFundMe page where people can donate to fuel their endeavours.
