President Donald J Trump jettisoned his National Security Adviser H.R. recently and his replacement is John R. Bolton. Bolton is the former United States’ Ambassador to the United Nations in the era of George W. Bush.
This replacement has been criticized by the Former President Jimmy Carter in an interview.
He is often criticized for his most radically hawkish voices in the United States foreign policy.
He is probably the only person who still believe that going to war in Iraq was a good idea. Despite the facts that show it was a horrible and shortsighted move which kickstarted the events that lead to the creation of ISIS also known as ‘Islamic States’.
Apparently, he has a strange love with the concept of war, he has been an advocate for declaring war on North Korea and Iran. He is known for being abusive towards his subordinates, he was accused of misleading the US intelligence into believing that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, which lead to Iraq.
From all of his action, his position as a National Security Adviser is frightening and it is understandable why Former President Jimmy Carter called it ‘one of the worst mistakes’ by President Trump.
Because of Bolton’s advocacy for war President Carter called it ‘a disaster for our country’.
He gave an exclusive interview to USA TODAY in which he said:
“Maybe one of the worst mistakes that President Trump has made since he’s been in office is his employment of John Bolton, who has been advocating a war with North Korea for a long time and even an attack on Iran, and who has been one of the leading figures on orchestrating the decision to invade Iraq,” Carter said. He called the appointment, announced last week, “a disaster for our country.”
This announcement came before a meeting is expected soon between Kim Jong Un and Trump. This is an opportunity that can potentially end the long heat between North Korea and the USA.
