Sometimes we post something stupid stuff on the internet by mistake and then after people take a screenshot of the deed there is nothing left than to repent. This guy is an associate professor of politics at Drexel University in Philadelphia and his only mistake was to compose a controversial idea on Twitter and post it to his 11000 followers. After the professor had posted the tweet the administration of the university summoned him for a meeting and told him that they were taking the matter quiet seriously.
“While the University recognizes the right of its faculty to freely express their thoughts and opinions in public debate, Professor Ciccariello-Maher’s comments are utterly reprehensible, deeply disturbing, and do not in any way reflect the values of the University,” – the statement said as reported by The Metro
After the professor made the tweet and posted it for his followers he started receiving an online backlash and along with it he also received several death threats. In an interview, the professor who lists race and racism as one of his academic specialisations said that the university didn’t understand the mocking nature of his tweet, he further added that he was actually mocking the imaginary concept of white genocide conspiracy theory which was invented by white supremacists.
“It is a figment of the racist imagination, it should be mocked, and I’m glad to have mocked it,” he added further!
Professor Ciccariello Maher then reportedly followed up his initial tweet with another praising of an incident, the massacre of white people in Haiti during the country’s slave uprising. The Twitter account of professor is private but still, someone took a screenshot of the tweet and it spread like fire on the eve of Christmas.
