Activists in Texas can go to any extent and this GoFundMe campaign has just corroborated the fact. So, thousands of dollars have been raised to place an anti-Sen. Ted Cruz billboard in the state. The GoFundMe page was started by USA Latinx in a bid to promote their own candidates. It raised more than $10,000 in less than 24 hours.
The effort was promoted by a gun control advocate David Hogg and Claude Taylor. The campaign read something like this,
President Donald Trump will be campaigning to help Sen. Ted Cruz win his re-election, A rally is being planned, according to Trump ‘at the biggest stadium in Texas.’ We are planning to display the presidents own words about Cruz from 2016 on a mobile billboard, to remind Texans of the truth.
The billboards are planned to feature an insult from Trump. It will remind Texans the tweet which Trump made in the year 2016 quoting Ted Cruz as, “all talk, no action” politician. The Trump tweet read, “Why would the people of Texas support Ted Cruz when he has accomplished absolutely nothing for them, He is another all talk, no action pol!”
The campaign aims to remind the Texans about the Trump’s past stance regarding the Sen. Ted Cruz. Trump has recently decided to support the senator in his tougher than anticipated election race against Democratic Rep. Beto O’Rourke. On Friday, Mr. Trump announced about a rally to support the Ted Cruz. Mad Dog PAC generally raises money to create billboards. In the past, it has sponsored many anti-Trump billboards with the help of raised money.
The future will tell the success of the campaign ran with the raised money. The Texans will choose wisely and the billboard will become a factor in changing the opinion of common people. The people will remember.
