The Baltimore controversy is growing day by day. Trump had earlier slammed the poor town in a series of tweets, something which is in tandem with his twitter diplomacy and politics. Trump is running for the next president and in order to make sure that his opponents think twice before standing against him, Trump is answering them one by one. In such an attempt, Trump tweeted Baltimore as ‘disgusting and rat-infested’ as he had to reply Rep. Elijah Cummings, who represents the city. He was attempting to show the world that how Elijah Cummings fall short of a good leader as she failed to solve the problems of Baltimore.
In the wake of the tweets, a CNN host became emotional and he broke down when he attempted to defend his hometown. Anchor Victor Blackwell became emotional when he rebuked Trump for calling his hometown names. Trump was attempting to criticise Rep. Elijah Cummings when he made a series of tweets criticising his jurisdiction which includes much of Baltimore.
The host blasted Trump for using the terms infested. He accused the president of using similar terms while hurling labels at the races. In a reply to the accusation of Trump that no one would like to live in Baltimore, the anchor kind of sobbed to reveal that he along with his friends and family lived in that hometown. He rebuked the idea of Trump by saying that the entire community is pretty proud of their hometown. He accepted that challenges are there but those can be solved.
I don’t want to sound self-righteous, but people get up and go to work there, they care for their families there, they love their children who pledge allegiance to the flag just like people who live in districts of congressmen who support you, sir. They are Americans too.
The anchor concluded that those living in Baltimore are as Americans as the rest of the nation living in the other places. The video can be watched here.
